In this poem, Black is trying to introduce London's "real" character and its emotions, eliminating the myth of magnificence and glory related to London. London is regarded as a powerfully beautiful city where wealthy people live and interact. But Black knows that London is truly dirty, frustrated and poor city, full of slums and homeless people, chronically ill patients. To reveal the truth, black combines the explanation of people and places with people's thoughts and emotions.

Both sentences are various forms of poetry located in the center of London everywhere in the late nineteenth century. However, they are very different in style and point of view. The first work is a sonnet written by William Wordsworth, one of the most famous writers of the 18th century, congratulating all the victories and beauties of London.
