Locomotion dynamics of hunting in wild cheetahs

Cheetahs are considered to be the fastest terrestrial animals, but little is known about the other aspects of their outstanding athletic performance, especially when hunting in the wild. Here we explain our own new tracking collar including a combination of Global Positioning System (GPS) and inertial measurement unit to capture the dynamics and results of 367 major hunting sports of Botswana's five wild cheetahs , Use it. . The maximum recording speed is 25.9 m s -1 (58 mph or 93 km h -1), but most cheetahs have moderate speed. We recorded some of the highest measurements of lateral and anterior acceleration, deceleration, and specific gravity of terrestrial mammals. To our knowledge, this is the first detailed exercise information on the dynamics of large swimming predators in natural habitats.
