Local Rotarian Honored with Paul Hellwege Guardian of Integrity Award

Gary Anderson of Knoxville Rotary Club won the Paul Hellwege Integrity Guardian Award in one of the five Toast to Rotary Interregional 6000 held in Ottumwa last Friday.

Hellwege is a former governor of Spin Zone 6000, this award recognizes people who live and reflect the ethics and integrity of their profession, business, personal life.

T. Waldman - Rotary, Williams, said that KNIA / KRLS News Anderson was chosen for this award because it showed a rotating four-person test. Goodwill and better friendships will be built, which will benefit all stakeholders. And Gary shows these features in everyday life and in cooperation with Rotary clubs. The annual award, which is Rotary's highest honor, is to recognize Rotary members who express their dedication to utilizing talent to support other people through volunteer activities and to help others. Up to 150 winners are elected each year, and each region contains one winner. Rotary members must be nominated to qualify for awards, recommendations are recommended by directors, RI directors, former RI directors and former directors. The winner is the self-service motto of RI and can be traced back to the early stages of the organization. In the second meeting of the national Rotary club association in 1911, the statement issued by Ben Collins, former chairman of the Rotary club of Minneapolis, influenced this motto. When talking to Rotary members from Seattle, Collins used the principle of "serve rather than myself" as the correct way to form a Rotary club.

Local residents and corporate groups were awarded at the 2016 Voorhees Community Service Awards ceremony hosted by Voorhees Rotary Club held on Thursday evening. Rotary inspired by the motto "self-service" always recognizes other people in the community who have lived with the same beliefs in the last 8 years. Mayor Michael Mignogna was elected as the Voorhees citizen of the year, fire brigade Jim Wave was elected as the first responder of the year, Eastern High School student Veronica Alday was elected as a student of the year, and Voorhees Business Association It was chosen as the Voorhees business of that year.

Hiltner was awarded his Life Gift Michael Award by the Spinning Zone 7500 Life Gifts Foundation. Every year, this award recognizes Rotator who actively participates in vibrant gifts. Hiltner was known for led Moorestown 's Rotours initiative, which brought the gift of life to the Philippines. The Gift of Life is a global nonprofit organization providing free medical services and facilities to children with heart disease in developing countries. Mr. Hilden said that he first contacted the organization when he served as a board member of the Rotary district in the early 1990s. She stated that this role is being exposed to various committees within Rotary, which is how she understands the close relationship between Rotary and nonprofit organizations.
