Living in Slums: Living Conditions in Africa

Infrastructure is usually made of wood, cardboard, plastic, abandoned roof, brick. Most of them are windows, no entrance, are well ventilated, and usually a small habitability space to share with one or two other families. The floor is made of earth. These places are not suitable for human occupation, and slum dwellers have no choice. People living in slums are seriously missing because they lack infrastructure conditions that affect the physical, social, and emotional well-being of the inhabitants of the slums.

Today, more than 1 billion people live in the slums. This is one of eight people. Slums are regarded as informal settlements and are common in cities. They are known for their inappropriate dwellings, overcrowding and poor living conditions. As people enter the city seeking better economic opportunities, the government seeks to support population growth. Many people who can not access alternative houses eventually enter the slums, but many others are born in the slums and are hard to escape. Slum dwellers do not have the right to own the land they live in, but they still settle down and build a house

I grew up in a community in the northern part of Nigeria, many young people in the world live in the slums and live in the developing countries of the world, mainly in Asia and Africa. There are very few who stand out from the slums, but in the long term they are striving for excellence through quality education, self recognition and social pyramids. The difference between the people coming out of the slums and the people not smuggled is a matter of opportunity. I recently read the African Union Agenda 2063, confirmed that the growth of youth in Africa was achieved and nobody was late. This is a hard work waiting for all of us.
