The Agricultural Production Management Association Applied Science focuses on animal breeding management, business management and related services as part of livestock industry or related industries. Students choose beef, small ruminant or pig species

Students learn nutrition, reproduction, genetics, assessment of life and dead bodies, livestock health and management, and accounting and farm business principles and processes

We have two programs you might be interested in: animal production and management, and animal science specializing in beef, small ruminant or pig.

Students of the livestock production management program have completed an industry internship for full-time job. Ohio State University ATI will help students find the appropriate internship positions in Ohio and across the country. Students are usually graded according to the work scores and the credits earned. Internship is a wonderful way for students to explore career opportunities before graduation.

Practicum is a supervised practice at ATI Farms in Ohio, offering opportunities to apply classroom learning skills to students. Encourage students to voluntarily think, assess and solve problems under the guidance of livestock facility managers

Production and management of beef, small ruminant animals or pigs Employment opportunities in the fields of production, sales and management of skilled workers. Graduates will fulfill the following roles.

Other joint industry opportunities are available for research activities and companies that provide products and services to livestock producers. Ohio State University graduates have recently been adopted by such companies.

The beef cattle treatment facility was designed by the famous animal behaviorist Temple Grandin. This is the only such facility in Ohio, which includes enclosure, double shoot system with hydraulic squeeze shoot and breeding box, and sorting pen.

Twenty four pigs are delivered to the completed operation, producing 500 pigs and one pig per year. This action includes a two-tiered high-floor nursery school and a grower-trimmer barn

Agriculture is everywhere around us. Agriculture is an important part of our lives. There is no crop production or livestock management without agriculture. Without the production of agricultural crops and the management of livestock, there are no meat, fruits, vegetables, milk and so on. Agriculture also plays an important role in our economy. Economics is how to allocate limited resources. Agricultural economics or agriculture is research on resource allocation and product production in agriculture. Agricultural economics includes many specialized fields such as agribusiness, agricultural policy, agricultural land and pasture management, rural development, international development, natural resources and environmental economics, agricultural marketing. It aims to optimize the choices made by agricultural producers using economic principles based on a limited understanding of land and resources.

The environmental impact is a matter of concern and raises many questions about how to control crop agriculture and livestock production. Areas of concern include residues of chemicals in foods, workers' exposure to pesticides, waste of soil and water resources, and untargeted but significant effects on natural ecosystems and wildlife . Food security is a broad term encompassing many aspects of the global food system. An important issue is related to hunger and a way to provide appropriate food for all. Ethical discussions are centered around the balance between world trade (and food relief) and widespread agricultural development. Bioterrorism is also a problem
