Literature was always part of society. Some are considered superior to others and have unique artistic value. Some people are considered teenagers. Most of the literary works of growing children are fairy tales. Modern fairy tales talk about Alice from the rabbit's hole to the fairytale country, or from Dorothy to Oz. The old classic is the adventure of Cinderella and her glass slippers, or Peter Pan in Neverland. These stories are intended to keep young people in good shape as young people grow.
When you start studying literature based on fairy tales and fantasy, use this activity to look up two papers on the impact of fairy tale on children. In "Fairy Tales: The Nightmare of Disguise", the author believes that fairy tales are the cause of several social diseases. In a separate article "Fairy Tales: Tools to Help Humanity," the authors believe that fairy tales not only bring a lot of benefits for children but also bring a lot of benefits to society as a whole.
Although the ancient myth and fable of Aesop certainly occupies an important position in literature, fairy tales provide several different things for the development of children. There are some nice fairy tale adaptations on paper and screen, but the original version of the fairy tale works deep inside the child's heart. We live in the literary era of realism and postmodern anti-heroism. A good man turned out to be a villain. This villain has a sympathetic background story. Whatever the right choice, good things will happen. This is the reality, we tell ourselves. I hope our children prepare for the difficulties of real life and bring difficulties to their lives.
As Loftis suggests, the purpose of a fairy tale (or literature) is not descriptive. That is not to show us the world (reality or imagination). Speaking of C. S. Lewis's fairy tale defense, Vox Day reminds us that the purpose of a fairy tale is to teach us about the courses applicable to our world. As a reader, I agree with Leslie Loftis. I am a little tired of moral talk. Whether from the left or from the right, it tells you what to think about and how to behave. Furthermore, I do not want to limit my reading to a "good" story with "right" ideas to protect me from "bad" stories and "bad ideas". I would like to read a book that exposes me to things I can not find in my daily life. If they have the idea of "good" or "bad", I would like to decide for themselves, thank you very much.
