Literary minimalism and JeanFrançoisLyotardAnneBeattie are known as minimalist novelists. Post-modern expression theory of JeanFrançoisLyotard has many similarities with this style. In this article, the philosophical contribution of Riotard to postmodern will be presented as an interpretation of mission statement and minimalist style. First of all, minimalism as a style is explained by an example of Anne Beattie's story "Girl Talk" and other comments.
Jean-FrançoisLyotard (1924-1998) is a French philosopher, sociologist, literary theorist, best known as a postmodern pioneer. He is co-founder of Jacques Derrida, François Châtelet, and School of International Philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. He also wrote "Post-Modern Interpretation: Communication 1982-1985, postmodern allegory, Lyotard readers" and so on. In the introduction of the book in 1979, he wrote as follows. "The purpose of this research is to acquire the conditions of knowledge in the most developed society.I decided to use the term" postmodern "to express this situation. It is used by Continental American sociologists and critics to specify the state of transient culture that has changed the rules of science, literature and art since the end of the 19th century.
The concept of post-modern conditions is related to JeanFrançoisLyotard. He was born in the Palace of Versailles in France in 1924. He is a French philosopher and a literary theorist. In the 1970s he was hired by the Canadian government to study society. He wrote La Conditional Post Modern: Rapport sur le savoir (Post Modern Condition: Knowledge Report). He said that we are now aware of the differences, diversity, beliefs, and desires, and our wishes are incompatible. He talks about how reason and imagination work in different ways.
Jean-François Lyotard criticizes the concept in his book Postmodern Conditions: Knowledge Report (1979). In this article, Lyotard refers to the postmodern state he explained and explains it as being skeptical about the overall nature of "metanarative" or "grand narrative". According to John Stephens, it is "a global or comprehensive cultural story that can classify and interpret knowledge and experience". The prefix element means "beyond" and is used here to mean "about" and the story is a story. Therefore, metanarathy is a narrative story that explains in the whole model including other "little stories".
