Literary and Character Analysis of Ulysses by James Joyce, Specifically Episode 18: Penelope

Molly is far from perfect, exactly her human nature. As readers can only introduce Molly Bloom's life in a day, Joyce has asked not to make any judgment. I think the very important part of "Penelope" is that a new approach should be taken when thinking about people, especially women's personality. Joyce proposes the idea that in order to love or to understand people, we must accept all about that person, good, evil and ugly.

My analysis focuses on how Joyce's narrative language and content uses memory to develop key characters. Specifically, we compare the narrative meaning of "Proteus", "Lestry gonians", "Penelope" which Erwin Steinberg calls "consciousness flow" (Steinberg 1973, 65). Prove these coincidence similarities and promote Joyce's goal of rebuilding traditional prototype heroes as memories of everyday people, urban wanderers and Molly. In addition, these similarities will develop the notion of text memory and collective unconscious ways Ulysses calls itself as its role. Then, while explaining how the difference in memory expression reflects individual identity, guilt feeling, shame challenge, we explain each of these three chapters sequentially.

James Joyce shows the influence of memory on providing new information to readers using Ulysses 'Consciousness Flow'. Through Penelope's episode, the reader will see lots of memories, this is due to this technique. It is absolutely convincing and effective. That helps the reader understand if Molly and she is what she is. The flow of consciousness as a literary skill is not used by many authors even in the age of modernism that we first noticed. James Joyce delineated this technique and the attendant attributes well. When we look at her idea, when I read the last chapter, Onns' view of Molly will definitely change.

"Ulysses" is a novel written by James Joyce in 1918. It is one of the most famous literary works of modernism era. This book is also related to Homer's Odyssey. Several characters in "Ulysses" seem to have a unique connection with Homer's work, like Odos' Leopold Bloom and Penelope's Molly. Ulysses is considered one of Joyce 's greatest achievements and novels, but it is not considered a novel or appropriate writing style. The whole "story" of "Ulysses" was held on the day of June 16, 1904. During the day, central figures of Stephen Dedalus and Leopold Bloom explore various events and events in Dublin, such as newspapers and public housing.
