Life beyond Earth

Mars was warmer and dryer than it used to be. The photos sent back from the European Space Agency's Mars Express and other spaceships show a large passage that looks like a dry riverbed. Where is the water?

A small amount was contained in the polar icecap. Some people fled to outer space. But most of them are frozen with soil and rocks.

Life can start on Mars, billions of years ago, when it was warm and humid. Today, the surface is too cold to dry and can not support life. However, some scientists believe that simple life like bacteria may still exist deep underground.

A few years later, ESA is planning to send detectors to find the life of Martian people. Then return to the rock and the earth for scientific research

In addition to Mars, in some of Jupiter's moons there may be life in the snow-covered ocean. Titan is the biggest satellite of Saturn and it is a very interesting place.

Scientists think Titan is like a young planet. In January 2005, ESA's Huygens detector landed on this cold and smoke-covered satellite. Dry rivers and lakes occasionally found to be filled with liquid methane
