This is a particularly bad book as it focuses on topics - food, water, and heat. Still, the author is very clever here: she chose a possibility as a catalyst for the story but a very unlikely event (destruction of the orbit of the moon). The scenario reminds us that it resembles global warming - rising tides, weather and agricultural turmoil, infrastructure destruction, energy hindrance - and so on to young readers. After all, book realism, and enthusiastic style of writing can frighten young children, you will not be missed as much as fantasy. For junior high school students, however, this will trigger extremely eye-catching thinking.
