Licenses in The Networked Information Economy

Free and open source software has become an integral part of the modern Internet age. Due to the threat posed by copyright law sponsored by proprietary software companies, the free software community has developed numerous software licenses to combat copyright and protect developers. Developers have used many open source licenses to publish their programs to the community. The most common licenses include the Apache license, the GNU General Public License (GPL), and the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL).

Today: Information economy has successfully achieved industrial economy. Railway is the center of industrial economy, computer is the center of information economy. The Internet formed a worldwide communication network, traveling for cars and aircraft replaced mainly for rail travel.
