Over time, people have discussed safety and freedom. Many people agree that they are essential for building democracy. However, in times of despair, the government may put safety or freedom on a higher pedestal, which may be beneficial or harmful for society. In the special case of the government that ordered the war and the government who ordered the draft, the true meaning of the discussion between security and freedom will be revealed. Like all the other wars above, people who "endanger their lives" are not struggling to defend freedom and freedom.
