ACLU has a long history of protecting the LGBT community. We brought our first LGBT rights lawsuit in 1936 and the LGBT project in 1986. Today ACLU brings more LGBT incidents and advocacy initiatives than any other country. Once we join the state courts and legislatures, no other organization can compare with our progress record in the courts and public opinion courts.

The ACLU lesbian and bisexual transgender programs are aiming to build a fair society for all LGBT people regardless of race and income.
