Lev Vygostky´s Sociocultual Theory and Deanna Kahn´s Metacognitive Development Theory

He basically advocated the foundation on which modern education systems and educational strategies are based. Cultural and social interactions form a framework for building cognitive development and new experiences. In his theory, he thinks that individuals are interacting with the environment (Laureate Education, 2010). Vygostsky's theory has a great influence on cognitive development studies, in which case cognitive development is considered a social mediation process (Berk, 2010). This theory applies to people of all ages.

Meta-cognition is a cognitive theory that is defined as learner's understanding of learner's own learning process. Meta-cognition is based on constructivism theory and has gained widespread attention in the 1970's. The term metacognition is derived from the term meta memory of Flavell (1985). Some elements of metacognition include metacognitive knowledge and metacognitive experience. Students learn to control their learning using metacognition strategies. Teachers are very important in this process. Because they can identify new learning disabled learners and can not monitor their own processes. Studies have shown that intervention is important to understanding how students can learn more effectively.

Metacognition is the theory about what we think. There are several definitions, but the essence of that capture was Flavell in 1979. Meta-cognition is described as the ability of a person to think and think about one's thinking, and to monitor and regulate thinking about what that person is doing and the experience of that person (eg problem solving) . Teacher modeling provides students with ideas, skills, and knowledge to master and share with their colleagues when doing a presentation. That is, modeling provides useful images for students. Communication according to NCTM (2000) "Communication is an important part of mathematics and mathematics education, which is a way to share ideas and clarify understanding (p. 60) Therefore, effectively (either orally or in writing ) In order to communicate, students must reflect and clarify their ideas and ideas from the past experience

To rethink the studies of some student's proposals for improving learning at the course led my classroom

¿ Cognitive meta-cognition of 1/2 elements is an increasingly important term in educational theory (Flavell, 1976). People often think of it as the introspective recognition of their cognitive process: not only to understand what they have learned but also to understand the way they learned. There is no doubt that there is some degree of metacognition in all learning processes, but some educational methods pursue this result - in itself "learning how to learn". Evidence to explore and achieve metacognition can be seen in many of the courses selected in several categories of this study. This is an example of metacognition as a unique product.
