Class teachers are an important part of teaching English, as excellent teachers have to prepare curriculum plans to achieve the objectives of the course. In this semester, I have the opportunity to observe elementary school 6th graders. The class consists of 31 students. They are Turkish native speakers and their English is basic. On the course I attended, the teacher taught simple easy present tense. Therefore, the main purpose of this lesson is to allow students to use a simple tense.
Mr. C was observed in 5th and 6th grades. The content of the course is the difference between standard English and nonstandard changes. The concept of linguistic variation based on geographic area and linguistic change over time is introduced (as shown in the English model specified in Kingman Report (DES, 1988)).
