As most of these societies today live in marginal areas where resources are scarce, the lives of hunters and collectors are likely to survive. For example, in the Arctic circle where Inuit people live, the elements of nature may be harsh. In industrialized society, food comes soon, and time to concentrate on other profits increases. Life expectancy is also low compared to society after industrialization. In hunting and gathering societies, technology is minimal and this also entails the need to spend time and energy to find food. Medical technology is also primitive for hunters and collectors. For example, if me or someone I care is developing appendicitis, it is easier to treat in post-industrial society, but it rarely dies. In the hunting and collecting society, perhaps my or my compassionate people suffer and eventually will die.

Social hunting and gathering certainly has their interests. Equality is wonderful, social stratification is low, and it is against the post industrial society. But I believe that costs outweigh these benefits.
