Lending a Helping Hand

I believe that I will help others. Whether it is a big event or a small problem, I think that simple good deeds can have a big impact.

When I was nine years old, I had a car accident with my family. It got up late at night, and we were trapped in the middle of a busy highway. While waiting for ambulances and firefighters to arrive, a half truck dropped in our car to protect us from traffic. The driver immediately contacted us and asked if someone was hurt or if someone needed help.

I was surprised that my family and I were delighted not only to work hard to help us but also to confirm that our life is not compromised. The most shocking thing is that he did not leave the scene until he saw that each of us was taken care of by the nursing staff.

When he drove, we noticed his license plate read "California". The accident happened in Ohio. For everything we know, he may have a deadline, and the company that works for him is thousands of miles away.

A few months later, I decided to join the community service project in the church. I volunteered to participate in groups that help the elderly with grass and housework around the area. My eyes are open, and seeing things like harvesting and weeding means the world to people in need. After a long day of work, the old lady welcomed us to her house to eat biscuits and milk. I remember how many times she appreciated us for taking the time to help her on a busy day.

After that weekend 's volunteer, I remembered the truck driver and his influence on my life. I thought about the schedule he had to stick, but he quit still to save us. Because of his generosity, I have been applying since the accident and I'd like to influence the lives of others. If it takes time for people to slow down and notice people around them suffering, life will change and head toward a brighter future. I hope to help other people because hope gives despair and people abandoned can feel love.

I know what it is to the recipients of kindness and I will return as much as possible. I make others smile, lend a hand to help, and try to listen to his voice. This week I will be using my Christmas message to connect with my loved one and I am looking forward to donating toys to unfortunate people. I believe that kindness is the best way to treat mental retardation. If all of us spend time with each other, we can make a difference
