In the past, violence against women is taking place throughout the society. It is difficult for the law to stop continuing because women are afraid of standing up or feel women are their faults. Domestic violence is one of the most common forms of violence against women in Ghana. According to a research led by the Development Research Institute in 2015, 27.7% of women in Ghana have experienced domestic violence in the last 12 months. Many of the violence against women in Ghana has not been reported due to the social stigma associated with these acts. However, in Ghana, the number of cases of violence against women has increased annually. As a victim of violence, I studied the image of violence against women in advertisement with the aim of identifying advertiser's awareness about the degree of implicit violence against women in certain sponsored advertisements. A detailed telephone interview with 13 spokespersons responsible for advertising violence against women in the past 10 years was held.
