Legacy Admission

After graduating from high school, many of the graduates are faced with the difficult task of applying to universities and community colleges for study in the fall. By applying to a university, students will compare their likes and dislikes with their schools to determine which school environment is best for you and where you can receive the best potential vocational education. Finding a school to attend school is an important part of student life and should be applied very seriously.

Legacy registration is a very controversial topic at the university and we do not want to participate in the discussion, that is why we do not consider whether registration is a good idea. As the system looks like this, our goal is to concentrate on giving you practical advice instead.

Recognition of heritage preferences or heritage is a preference given to a specific applicant by that agency or organization based on family relationship with the alumnus of the institution. Heritage registration is almost exclusively limited to universities and universities in the United States, and almost unprecedented in higher education institutions in other countries around the world. Preference of heritage of elite universities and universities in the United States is common. Nearly three quarters of research universities and nearly all liberal arts colleges give heritage preferences from the viewpoint of admission. For legacy-based incentives, usually a large number of reward points are given at the entrance evaluation and additional consideration is given if the application is refused first.

Since the 20th century, there were tastes and incentives for heritage in entering the university in the United States. Historically, traditional entrance was used as a way to refuse applicants who are not welcomed in the beginning of the 20th century. During this period, the admission standard began to change, the application requirements increased, and more Jewish students began applying for higher education. The university has two options. Accepting students based on academic outcomes (opening doors to unpopular minority students), accepting privileges, and maintaining an excellent position of institution. Of course, they chose the latter. In the next few years, the university has developed various strategies, from accepting sons of past graduates completely to solving the "Jewish admission problem", to lowering acceptance criteria to elite. Even today, heritage preferences are used as a way to encourage donation by wealthy people.
