By teaching by solving problems, students can create meanings of mathematical concepts and use this meaning to build more difficult concepts (Van De Walle, Karp, Bay-Williams, 2013). When students master the learning process, they can have their own learning experiences. Using mathematical methods to solve the problem will help students to integrate concepts and demonstrate their thought process. If students can express their ideas in words, they will better understand the process necessary to solve mathematics.
What kind of job-based learning experience do the students have? Schools vary in their ability to integrate job-based learning experiences. The Los Angeles Institute of Health Sciences is expanding the learning experience based on that occupation every year. For new students and second graders, undergraduates and graduate students majoring in health and medicine teach students through a small research project. In junior high and high school, students participate in work shadow programs and internships. In order to qualify, students prepare for periodic course training in previous years. In the 12th grade, qualified students will participate in service internship in that field. The school employs a student-based learning coordinator to link students with industry partners.
Who is responsible for overseeing work-based learning experiences? Normally, a teacher or coordinator oversees the student's professional experience and associates learning experience based on occupation with learning in the classroom. Teachers and coordinators who specify time for this purpose will cooperate with industry partners to provide students with appropriate experience. The school district can support these connections by allowing teachers and coordinators to contact industry partners and provide time to supervise the students. Where do school employees find vocational learning sites for students? Rob Atterbury, Professional Development and Regional Coordinator for ConnectEd, advises employees to contact the Business Community Advisory Committee, including Chamber of Commerce and other corporate bodies first. Other industry organizations that can receive assistance from the Regional Chamber of Commerce, Labor Investment Committee, Economic Development Organization, Trade and Industry Organizations.

Like the Harvard Business School class, participants in the HBX program work closely with colleagues from around the world to closely examine actual company case studies and learn the necessary business concepts.
