Las Meninas

Las Meninas is regarded as one of the best paintings ever, by critics and artists' admirers. It was drawn when the Spanish glory faded, Velázquez was once surrounded by the remnants of the great courts, now it is in confusion and debt. King Philippe did not have the right male heir to the throne, was destroyed in the war of thirty years, and fell into depression because he did not make much effort to control the state. He lost his power, and his portrait in the mirror of Las Meninas painted the shadow of Philip.

Painting writers Las Meninas (1656) and Diego Velázquez (1599-1660) were in the court of Philip IV, so they were at the center of the core power structure of the early modern European primitive nation. Las Meninas has always been considered - whether in the Velázquez era or our era - his masterpiece. My aim in this article is to discuss paintings and their formation by exploring power relationships rather than perspective studies. What I am interested in this article is to analyze Las Meninas from the viewpoint of power relationship to alternatively read literature based only on the technical aspects of painting. Las Meninas There are lots of seriousness in the paintings of seal, but there is a problem We must admit that the picture is complicated and complicated.

Ray and I spent a lot of time (and many drinks) on Las Meninas and in the various bars around Prado about how it was formed and why it is still so deeply resonating It was. My idea sinks to Las Meninas. It is difficult not to draw stories around it or to feel the connection with the person drawn. I think that Velázquez and Philip are best friends (or they can be with painters like the king), and I think they are going to paint a wonderful picture for them and Spain. I have read that it is very rare to paint a painter with the royal family. This may be a way for the king to give Velázquez a somewhat elevated position and reward him for serving Spain. Family affinity should be very happy to play such a rare and important role in Velázquez 's great portraiture. I imagine children sneaking into the studio from time to time to see how they are immortalized (like just a part of today's Spielberg film).

After studying Las Meninas for a long time from far, I finally got the opportunity to see it with my own eyes. In January 2008 I went to Madrid's Prado with my teacher Ray Berry and he introduced my work at the faculty Velazquez. This is the second time he saw Las Meninas, the first time decades ago. I think that this is a pilgrimage - in addition to seeing this picture, we think that we must pay tribute to painters who have had a great influence on my view of Ray, paint and painting. Velázquez is a painter's painter, and regardless of their pedigree and style of painting, all painters I know will respect him. In all respects, Las Meninas is a masterpiece of Velázquez. Access to paintings is usually explained in sacred words - clearly you are not just watching Las Meninas, you will experience it. On a flight to Madrid, I doubt if Las Meninas in Prado will live to Las Meninas in my head. Hooray
