The word "Jamaica" is derived from the word "Zimaka", meaning "Wither bee." However, this island is not limited to its beautiful scenery. This is a country full of vitality and happiness. Jamaica is a small island, but its attractive culture is prospering through storytelling, music, food and so on. Located about 90 miles south of Cuba, Jamaica and its beautiful location is one of the main reasons people like to visit this dream island (Witherabie).

Known as the land of trees and water, Jamaica is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Our identity and survival depend heavily on island's natural resources. The Jamaican economy depends greatly on fields such as agriculture, water supply, mining, tourism and so on. Climate change, raw material competition, pests, urbanization progress, habitat deterioration, etc. are raising doubts about the long-term value of these natural assets. Jamaica now faces this troubling problem and has to open up a new path for social economic development and environmental sustainability.
