Knowing your content area is not enough Traditionally it is difficult for students to think about topics other than correct and incorrect. For example, the student treats the history lesson as a set of dates and events that you need to remember to correctly answer questions in the exam. They do not recognize that history has a wider impact and influences today's world and her own lives. Likewise, students are missing the broader aspects of mathematics and science. They rely on formulas and procedures to solve the current problem but lose sight of whether the officials and programs are actually based on a larger concept that is actually universally applicable to the physical world.
Students, teachers and parents are preparing for college entrance exams. Students need to know what they want to remember and how to get good grades. Teachers need to know which topics to cover in the class and how to best test the students. Parents need to understand cram schools, private lessons, and past paper workbooks that must be bought for children. Hong Kong's public examination committee is responsible for public examination and evaluation. Most importantly, it determines how standardized tests are evaluated. Before the first DSE exam, the instructor needs to decide how to prepare the student and the place. They depend on the advice of the education department (another government administrator). For up to two months the students sit down and announce their thesis and the test committee publishes simulation papers. Compared to the recommendation of the Education Department, the examination council will make different evaluations for the students.
Timothy Wells is a high school student who is enthusiastic about chemistry testing. His friend is taking exams by remembering all the expressions and facts in the textbook. Timothy noticed that he did not benefit because he needed a thorough understanding of the chemical concept to remember the facts in order to make the exam a reality. So Timothy uses a different way to study the exam. Unlike a friend's penny who wrote the facts in the textbook but failed the exam, he accepted the A test. Therefore, we need to concentrate on not only understanding the facts, but also understanding the ideas and concepts of specific things.
