Kiwanis became an international organization of Kiwanis Club in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1916. Kiwanis limited its members to the United States and Canada until 1962 when worldwide expansion was approved. Since that time, Kiwanis spread to the continent where all the people of the world live. The original purpose of Kiwanis was to exchange business with partners and to serve poor people. In 1919, when Kiwanis adopted a service-oriented mission, discussions on which should be focused on networks and services have been resolved. In 1924, the Kiwanis object was adopted (see above) and it remains the same today.

KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL Kiwanis is an organization that is conscious of prosperous services and communities with 600,000 members who support children and young people around the world. Kiwanis has 8,600 clubs in 94 countries, sponsors 147,000 services, raises nearly $ 100 million of funds, and last year alone contributed to 6.2 million hours of volunteer work.
