Kilauea located on the island of Hawaii is one of several dome volcanoes that form the Island of Hawaii. The uniqueness of these islands is in stark contrast to our understanding of global plate tectonics and volcanoes formed around the Pacific Rim volcanic zone. Kilauea and Hawaiian volcanic zones are moved by geological hotspots in the central Pacific. Thomas Yage is one of the pioneers of Hawaii volcanic activity and opened the way to the Hawaii Volcano Observatory founded in 1912.
For those unfamiliar with the history of Hawaii volcano it is important to note that there are five volcanoes on the island. Kilauea is considered one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Mauna Loa also lives on the island This volcano is often called "a sleeping giant", and it is not dormant, but it is decades since the volcano showed activity. Mauna Loa is considered to be the world's largest active volcano, the area is Tam massif, extinct volcano. Mauna Loa is thought to be the only Hawaiian volcano in Kilauea and is still being actively supplied on a large scale from the lower magma.

Over time, the lava will cool and form rocks on the surface of the earth. Whenever an eruption occurs, the newly formed rocks in the lava layer will continue to form until a volcano is formed
