Members of AOG Lab established SoundCitizen in 2008. In 2012, the program was transferred to the University of Washington, Tacoma, and under the guidance of Dr. Joel Beck, it was placed in the city center water. All research facilities have been moved, but AOG still plays a role in educational programs such as SoundCitizen, especially My Place and Project COOL of Puget Sound.

Other co-authors worked at the Harbor Laboratory on Friday and now is Wendell Raymond who is working at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. Oceanography is a wider term, and many science is focused on understanding the common objectives of the ocean. Geology, physics, geochemistry, geophysics, botany, zoology, mathematics, and meteorology all play an important role in deepening the understanding of the oceans. Geological oceanography is the study of the "bottom of the earth's surface and the history of the basin" under the sea level. Physical oceanography studies the causes and properties of water flow such as wave flow and tide. Physical oceanography also proposes research on sound and light of seawater. Research on heat, heat and water circulation is called ocean meteorology, chemical oceanography studies water composition and history, biological oceanography is a study of all marine organisms and biological interactions.
