One of the oldest traditions of religious ethics is the war of justice. "Justice war theory" regulates the conditions of war. The opposition based on the theory of justice war is different from pacifists. Opponents oppose a certain war, but not against all wars. Their opposition is based on the principle of justice rather than the principle of pacifism (Becker 926). In the monotheistic religious tradition of Christianity and Islam, one of the divine (or Allah's) roles is to restrict or control the invasion between humans.

Historians and philosophers formed the theory of war just for centuries. However, the most systematic description of the theory of justice war was developed by St. Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologicae. According to the theory of war of justice, the moral reality of war can be divided into two parts. War was judged twice.
