OpenVPN uses certificates to encrypt traffic. It's time to set up our own Certificate Authority (CA) and generate certificates and keys for OpenVPN servers. OpenVPN supports certificate-based two-way authentication. That is, the client authenticates the server certificate and the server must authenticate the client certificate before establishing mutual trust. Do this by using the Easy RSA script you just copied. To create individual authentication credentials for each device that connects to the VPN, you need to perform this step for each device, but change the following name client1 to another name such as client2 or android2 please. Separate credentials are used for each device as required, and can be individually disabled later on the server. In the rest of this tutorial we will use client1 as the name of the sample client device.
