Juan Ponce de Leon (1460? -1521) was the Spanish explorer and soldier who stepped into Florida the first European. He also founded the oldest village in Europe in Puerto Rico and discovered the Gulf Coast (Atlantic Basin). Ponce de Leon is looking for legendary youth and other sources of wealth

In 1460, Spanish Santwas was born (indeterminate), Ponce de Leon was a soldier who fought with Muslims in southern Spain in the early 1490s. Ponce de Leon departed in 1493 when Christopher Columbus departed during the second expedition to the Americas. Ponce de Leon does not return to Spain with Columbus, and he lives in Santo Domingo (now known as the Dominican Republic)

He was appointed Governor of Higuey State in Dominica. He later talked about gold at a nearby Bollingken Island (now known as Puerto Rico), cruelly conquered the island and called Spain. He was appointed general governor of the island then. He was fired in 1511 because of his extreme atrocities against Native Americans.

They departed on April 8 and now they headed south into the warm current known as Gulf Stream. For Spain travel from Europe to America, this ocean current will be very important. On the way back, there was a battle between the men of Ponce de Leon and the indigenous peoples of southern Florida. They sailed toward Cuba and then tried to find Bimini toward the north (but found Andros)

After returning to Puerto Rico, Ponce de Leon resumed fighting with Native Americans (suppressing the rebellion against Spanish rule). He returned to Spain, was appointed captain by Spanish king on 27 September 1514 and sailed again to Puerto Rico to find elusive Bimini.

His last expedition was another search in Minnesota state in 1521. His 200 soldiers landed on the west coast of Florida but were hit by a Native American fighter who was injured many arrows including Ponce de Leon. Ponce de Leon later died in Havana, Cuba, with this wound (July 1521). He was buried in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Juan Ponce de Leon was born in Sant Vas de Campos in Spain in 1474. His father Luis Ponce de Leon and his mother Leonor de Figueroa are aristocrats. In boyhood he served as a nostalgic personal waiter of Don Pedro Núñezde Guzmán. Guzman is the chief of the knight of the Royal Court and is in a very important position 1. As a homesicker, the young Ponce de Leon responds to the demands of the guzzan, including taking care of his horse and helping him dress up. In return, he is trained in social etiquette, hunting and intense military training.

A few years after politics in Spain, Ponce de Leon has been replaced by Governor of Puerto Rico. However, the King wishes to reward Juan's service. Juan was awarded an expedition to explore the northern islands of Puerto Rico. In 1513, Ponce de Leon headed north with a total of 200 men and 3 boats (San Diego, San Cristobal, Santa Maria de la Consolas). According to legend, Ponce de Leon is looking for Florida 's Spring of Youth. This magical spring is supposed to make young people who drink alcohol young again from there. However, there is little evidence that this is the actual purpose of the expedition. Ponce de Leon's work has no mention of the fountain, but after his death.

The crew was forced to give up most of the supplies to prevent the ship from sinking.
