Journey Begins

The journey of each university student starts with the admission office and there is no difference for students who are not documented. In fact, contacting this particular group should start before you enter the campus. Inviting a journey to junior high school or high school is the best opportunity to remind potential students and their families that despite their immigration status there is still the possibility of access to the university. It is very important to emphasize that the university is an option. Only 10% of men and 16% of females are enrolled in university among children aged 18-24 without companion (Fortuny, Capps, & Passel, 2007).

When the immigrants arrive at the destination country, another journey begins. Normally, this journey occurs in recent immigrant minds, thoughts, and inner beings, so it is ignored. Many of our students are greatly affected by these problems, such as language problems, family separation, missing homeland, negotiations on both cultures. Language: One of our students says, "My idea is like a Ferrari, but my tongue is like an old Chevrolet truck." Language challenges and identity problems have nothing to do with expressing themselves effectively. Immigrant students need to see other people face the challenges of the same language

They say that even the longest journey is a step. In many cases, traveling innovation is difficult, full of traps and dead ends. No matter how difficult it is, you need to take the first step to begin your adventure. This step was done by a group of outstanding students at the Gdansk University of Technology who decided to build a platform similar to the Mars probe. Let's see this project as this project is an interesting example of grassroots innovation created by Gdansk. This project, named codename LEM Mars Rover, started just a few months ago and a total of 20 students are interested in robotics, mechatronics, telecommunications and chemistry. They knew from the beginning that they wanted to make something more important than radio controlled toys.
