Joseph D. McNamara served as a police chief in San Jose, California for 15 years and served as a police chief at Kansas City, Missouri. He is recognized as an expert in criminal justice, police technology and management system, crime prevention and international drug management policy. In 1991 he was appointed a researcher at Hoover Institute at Stanford University and McNamara was a pioneer criticizing the police department and the government's "battle crime war" approach. McNamara has long challenged how society has dealt with US drug problems.
Joseph's life is a series of climaxes and valleys - literally and figurative. In his father's house, Joseph was a privileged son: "Israel (aka Jacob) loves Joseph more than all his sons, because he is an aged child of him" (Genesis 37: 3). As Joseph is the eldest son of Jacob's favorite (deceased) wife Rachel, he may be in such a position. To prove this preference, Jacob passed Joseph a long sleeved dress and the famous Kitten 's passive converted to a fine wool coat. (The commentator deduces that it has stripes of different colors.) This preferential treatment from my father caused the embarrassment of Joseph's ten brothers.
When my beloved Jacob made long sleeve special cloaks in Joseph ('Multicolored coat' is a misunderstanding of Genesis 37: 3), he gave his favorite son special privileges. In this case, Joseph was exempted from herd farming obligations, as she could not chase sheep because of long sleeves. Jacob's mistake became apparent when his aunt's son grasped Joseph alone, took off his clothes and sold him to slaves and used bloody cloaks as evidence of Joseph's death ( Genesis 37: 18-33).
Genesis 37-50 Joseph was backed by Jacob. Joseph dreamed of parents and brothers respecting and obeying him. The brothers of Joseph sold him to slaves, and he was taken to Egypt. Potifal 's wife sacrificed Joseph and told him. Joseph was put in prison. He explained the pharaoh 's dreams with Pharaoh' s housekeeper, baker and pharaoh. Pharaoh made Joseph the ruler of Egypt and Joseph prepared the famine for Egypt. When Joseph's brothers came to Egypt, he tried them and forgives them. All the members of Jacob 's family came to Egypt, and Jacob blessed his son. Joseph predicted in Egypt and died
Genesis 45: 8 also called Joseph, "My father is Pharaoh." Of course, this does not mean that Joseph is the biological father of King Egypt. There is no blood relationship between the two. Pharaoh was an Egyptian, and Joseph was a Hebrew. Like many scholars, we assume that Pharaoh in Joseph's story is the king of Hixos, but there is no reason to doubt that there is a blood relationship between the two. Ignoring this possibility, what does the phrase "Pharaoh's father" mean? The Pharaoh's father, more precisely "the father of God" (the Egyptians believe their king is sacred) has various meanings in ancient Egypt. One is the term of master of the ruler's childhood. In the case of Joseph, this is impossible. He had never met the king until he called from prison to explain the dream of the king. The Bible does not mean that Joseph is taking such a position.
