Josef Muller Brockmann and His Work

Josef Muller Brockmann was born in Rappersville, Switzerland on May 9, 1914. After completing secondary education with Rapperswil, he began working as a designer in Zurich in 1930. As one of the leading pioneers, he is considered one of the most talented and influential design artists. In 1936, Müller established Zurich with its own design practice specializing in design, graphics and photography. His first poster was designed in 1950. In 1957 he served as a teacher of graphic design at Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich and became Ernst Keller's successor.
