Johnstown Flood Disaster

Johnstown flood on May 31, 1889 was a horrifying day in the town of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. This town was built in 1794 and is a steel town with a population of 30,000. As shown in the following figure, the cause of the flood was not really beginning in town, and upstream of South Folk Dam met the small Conemaugh and the Stony Creeks river.
