John Adams John Adams was born in Massachusetts Bay on October 30, 1735. He was born in five wealthy families. He is the eldest son named after his father, John Adams. His father was a deacon of the congregation's church and a lieutenant of the local militia so young Adams was able to receive appropriate education for the children. Despite his busy schedule, his main concern and profession is agriculture. In 1761, Adams' father died from the influenza epidemic. His mother remarried in 1766, but a young John did not go well with his stepfather.

In 1870, Charles Francis established the first presidential library in the US to commemorate his father. The Stone Library has over 14,000 books written in 12 languages. This library is located in "Old House" of Adams National Historical Park in Quincy, Massachusetts.

His mother, Susanna Boystone Adams, is a descendant of Boilston in Brooklyn, famous for the Massachusetts colony. At the age of 16, Adams received a scholarship to attend Harvard University. After graduating in 1755, at the age of 20, Adams studied the law at the office of a famous lawyer James Putnam. In 1758, he received a master's degree from Harvard University and got a lawyer qualification.
