Jim Jones, leader of the surname of James Warren Jones (May 13, 1931, born in Crete, near Crete, Rin, Indiana, November 18, 1978, Guyana, Joanstown) Promised the followers to become utopia and declared the US to be the savior of the People's Temple This is the evangelical group of San Francisco. He eventually lead to a massive suicide by his followers, killing over 900 people, later known as Jonestown Massacre (18th November 1978)
When I was young, Jones became an ordinary believer, after graduating from Butler University, I decided to enter the faculty. In the 1950s and 1960s, at Indianapolis, Indiana, Jones gained a reputation as a charismatic priest who was a supporter of racial integration voice. And that conflicted with some elders of the Church. In 1955 he founded the Pentecostal church and was finally called People's Temple. Meanwhile he was known for his cooperation with the homeless and served as the chairman of the Indianapolis Human Rights Commission in the early 1960s. Fear of nuclear war, in 1965 Jones moved his church to northern California, first settled near Ukiah, then settled in San Francisco in 1971.
After this movement, Jones who uses the name "prophet" is obviously passionate about athletic power. Soon, he began to face all kinds of accusations, most prominently his illegal transfer of income of cult owners for his own use. Among more and more accusations, Jones and hundreds of believers moved to Guyana and founded an agricultural commune called Jonestown (1977). As a sectarian ruler, Jones confiscated his passport and several million dollars and manipulated the follower with threats, beatings, and the threat of possible death. He also made a strange rehearsal for mass ceremonial suicide.
On November 14, 1978, Rep. Leo Ryan of California arrived in Guyana with a group of journalists and relatives of cultists to conduct an informal investigation of suspicion of abuse. Four days later, when John's party and 14 exiles were about to leave the runway near Jonestown, Jones ordered to assassinate the organization. However, only Ryan and the other four (including three journalists) were murdered. Jones was concerned about his suicide plan. On 18th November he ordered his believers to drink cyanide mixture. And it was a passive and mysterious obedience to the instructions of most of them. Jones himself died of a bullet wound by his bullet on his head which might have been his own fault. On the next day, the Guyana Army arrived at Joanstown and ultimately set the number of Cultis to 913 (including 276 children).
Children will look at Odell and call him "Dad". At first he was worried. Jim Jones is his father. Jim Jones is my father. But the leader of the organization expressed his appreciation for his efforts. They said that Odell provided a stable image to the young. He estimates that his value is rising so fast. Oder came to Vietnam and joined what they call "hunting and killing" school. No one says it will survive in the jungle around Jonestown. Armed members of the security forces of the temple got a road and a sidewalk. Escape is always arrested. And you can be punished. Odel thought he could steal the cab from the camp. He hid it in the bushes and then used it to cancel the next morning before someone realized he was missing. Until he is presumed dead, he lives on land, hiding in the bushes away from the roads and sidewalks.
Does Jones need to be over praised? It is difficult to say, but his adopted Jim Jones, Jr. According to reports, he had problems with those who left him (interview with Jim Jones, 2010 Junior; People's Temple Death and Death, PBS). He is always the heart and voice of the church - he is the center of the group and the center of attention - but do you want to get it? He seems to need too much praise based on evidence and assertions of people close to Jones. This may be the place he spurred the group to build a fortress's spirit, where it is almost impossible to leave, Jones wants the law
Jim Jones is a very smart person who obtained degrees from Indiana University and Butler University (Robinson 1). Jones used many techniques to gain members of his church, but the most important thing is the charm and personality of the personality. Jim Jones encounters Doyle Johnson's "attractive cult leader" image. (Dickson 4) Jim Jones uses children to create religious advertisements and use them to engage pedophiles (Mills 203). Jones will brainwash his followers in a number of ways, but most of them brainwash through sleep deprivation and church service for 7 hours a day. "Jones participating in the brain wasrrrrrrrrrr brain movement is completely wrong, not only manipulate ideas, but also manipulate the behavior of his followers." (Dixon 4)
