On Sunday's first reading I read how Charlton Heston Moses said another prophet would follow him. This promise has reached Jesus' ultimate achievement. This is the reason Jesus is often called "New Moses".
Here is a list of similarities between Jesus and Moses I recently added my comment to my reading on Sunday:
Perhaps the most important similarity is when Moses suffered ten disasters in Egypt. On the contrary, the new Moses Jesus brought ten kinds of healing to society; he cleaned the lepers, healed the servants of the centurion, healed many people, calm the storms, freed the demons of Gadar Ryan, And he cured the sick patient. The daughter of the church official died, was raised from a woman who recovered bleeding, and the two blind men saw a hearing and a speech to a foolish person. (Mountains 8 and 9)
If Jesus is the new version of Moses, Jesus will expect people to tell the commandments of God. And it will lead people to experience healthy blessings. That is exactly the opening remarks of Jesus, the sermon on the mountain, beginning with Jesus and explaining the blessings related to the life of God's country. To my surprise, the crowd gathered around Jesus is almost exclusive to the Israelite country, but his speech did not emphasize that individuals are blessed for their national identity. Instead, people are blessed with a position in the world. In the original meaning of the Hebrew language, it is especially to the "poor" that refers not only economically poor but also people whose social status is low due to the selection of status or life or people who have been rejected by society is. Please leave them outside the mainstream. Therefore, from a modern perspective, the message of Jesus is directed to all the weak.
