Jesuits in North America

The Society of Jesus in North America, the Jesuits are orders of Catholic, and are still going well today all over the world today. Especially at the encounter during the colonization of the Americas, the Jesuit, also known as the Jesuits, is an important role in documenting Native Americans, transforming them and helping them adapt to the new changing environment I fulfilled. They left a document of their efforts in the form of Jesuit relations.

Because of the conflict between France and Iroquois, the efforts of the Jesuits of North America will continue to be hindered. The country of Huron was largely destroyed by the influence of the Iroquo war caused by the epidemic of infectious diseases from 1634 to 1640. 2 The method used by the Jesuits in the United States relatively respects the traditional lifestyle of Indians, especially compared to the new Puritan method. In the simplification of the code of conduct, the Protestant historian of the nineteenth century Francis Parkman wrote: "Spanish civilization destroys the Indian, British civilization disregards and ignores him, and the French civilization treat him I accepted and cherished it ": 42

The impact of the Jesuits in the northern part of North America is great. The first French missionary arrived in 1625 and continued to the following year. Jerusalem is known as a black dress by indigenous people and its efforts concentrate on the predominant Huron Lake when his number may exceed 3 million. Attention to Iroquoir is low. The tension between the Jesuits of this region and other French people is rapidly rising. The root of the problem is that missionaries criticized the use of alcohol in trade with Indians.
