Jamestown In the 16th century England was one of the most powerful countries in the world. At this point, England is also at the urgent need of funds. To alleviate the economic burden of the country, King Henry VIII decided to deprive the land owned by the Catholic Church. Henry then sold the investor to the land he had already resided, and his residents were forced to leave. These people and their descendants will eventually become settlers in search of wealth and they will solve the American problem in British imperialist attempts.

In the UK there are two major colonies in the New World, Jamestown and Plymouth. The first colony was Jamestown, founded in Virginia state in 1607. Jamestown was settled by Captain John Smith and named after James I. Tobacco is the main export item of Jamestown, the basis for the Jamestown economy, and sent more than £ 50,000 to the program to return to Europe in 1618 (textbook 46). Almost all colonists died in Jamestown in four years. In 1607 the British ship headed to Chesapeake Bay and later to Jamestown, Virginia. By the summer of 1609, 524 colonists will arrive in Jamestown. But by 1611, more than 300 people will die! There are three main reasons for this terrible incident. There is not enough food, no water available, and they do not have enough skilled workers to help them survive. One of the biggest problems for settlers is that drought reduces the possibility of cultivating crops (Document B) and consumes food but that is not enough to last until the winter.
