Jamestown Settlement

The settlements of Jamestown are close to the original colony and tell the story of Virginia of the 17th century. From 1607 James Town's British settlers to cultural encounters and events planting new country species. The first permanent British colony in America, the world of Jamestown has become a reality throughout the history of movies, gallery exhibitions, outdoor life.

We stopped by Williamsburg, Virginia and visited four places I was excited about. Jamestown settlement (not the actual location of the original Jamestown village, but the life history museum / reconstruction). James Ton (original position of former Jamestown settlement in 1607, active archaeological excavation, museum of relics found, etc.), Yorktown's New York Revolutionary Museum (Museum near the Yorktown battlefield), Yorktown Battlefield. We did this in this order. This is based on the recommendation order of my previous research.

Jamestown Settlement is a living history park and museum adjacent to Jamestown Island, 2.05 km (1.25 mile) from the original colonial era. The Jamestown Settlement is a life history museum operated by Virginia Commonwealth and was established as a Jamestown Festival Park commemorating the 350th anniversary in 1957. Today, the original James Fort (around 1607-1614) entertainment, Powhatan Indian Village, indoor and outdoor exhibitions, and original settler ships Susan Constant, Godspeed, and Discovery replicas are on exhibit. Built on May 14, 1607, it is adjacent to the ruins of the colonial National Historical Park, including Jamestown, the first successful United Kingdom in the continent of North America.
