The title story of "The Jaguar Hunter:" (1985) is a perfect example of Shepard's favorite theme. Retired Jaguar hunter Esteban and his unhappy wife lived in the countryside of Honduras. She wanted to master the Western material culture, so I bought a TV from a local pawnbow shop without permission and I borrowed Esteban. Because there is no cash to pay the fee, a vulgar shopkeeper asked him to kill the deadly black Jaguar who killed the other eight hunters. Despite his doubt, he accepted the work and soon met a black Jaguar. The writing of this story is wonderful, and the story behind Jaguar is full of mysticism and tragedy. This is one of my favorites. This is a sample paragraph.
Imagine a Jaguar trapped in a desolated island. Suddenly, I heard a gunshot. Jaguar changed his direction and saw Hunter chasing him! Can you cover it and hide it from the back of the jungle or hide it from the eyes of the hunter? The hunter walked looking straight at the bush placed near Jaguar. Jaguar knows that it will be hunted until the hunter succeeds. That life is in danger. This is exactly what I felt when Rainsford was pursued by General Zero. Suspense, setup, and satire make Richard Cornel's "the most dangerous game" an exciting short story
Jaguar is the most heinous of cats. The roaring sound is between coughing and roar. Jaguar is a very good hunter that can attack and kill prey for eating. It also swims very well and is playing water. On land, Jaguar is hiding in caves and bushes, crawling near the prey and jumping. When a group of prey stops eating and drinking it is easy to climb a tree and hide in that prey. Jaguar grabs the catch with the forelimb of the muscle and bites the prey to the neck.
Like all cats, Jaguar is an absolute carnivore that makes meat only eaten. It is at least 87 diet opportunist hunter. It uses an unusual killing method: it bite the prey's skull directly between the ears and gives deadly damage to the brain. Jaguar can capture almost every terrestrial or river vertebrate species found in Central America or South America, except for large crocodiles such as Black Cyneman. Jaguar is like a versatile diet therapy than its old world cousin: there are many small animals in the tropical region of the Americas, but this kind of large ungulate prefers the relatively small population and diversity . They often take adult Caiman, except for Black Caiman, Deer, Capybara, Tap, Peccarrie, Dog, Zoro, and sometimes Anaconda. However, we prey on all available small species such as frogs, rats, birds (primarily species on the ground such as Creek), fish, sloths, monkeys, tortoises.
