Is Visual Studio a good tool for beginners to learn?

I do not think this is good for beginner's programming class. It's like learning to drive with Boeing Jet. Do not get me wrong, Visual Studio is a great tool for professional engineers who need shortcuts, productivity, and comprehensive application lifecycle management tools.

However, "Clicking this button, clicking this button, automatically generating methods and running stress tests here" is not a good way to teach programming.

I am responsible for adopting the Visual Studio product line in Indonesia for nearly 4 years but I think this is a very complicated tool.

I taught the semester in the class of algorithm design and analysis. According to my experience in educating college students, it is best to teach this idea, but let's use the tool to do homework for the actual case realization. So they can make the most of both worlds
