Is Todays News What It Should Be?

Today's news is a real explanation of events of the day. Whether it is trying to lead the reader to maintain openly high interest reactions. Or, the entertainment company is trying to raise more profits than today's news. Are there some news standards for today's news? In order to answer these questions, the reader must understand the definition of the news. It is best for Jack Fuller to define the news as "a report on important matters or new things news organizations have learned about the specific community being provided by the news organization." Today's news is different from news more than half a century ago.

Jim Squires said the news "is a realistic comprehensive and intelligent explanation about the background of events of the day and should give meaning." "The function of the news is to inform the event, the truth function is to reveal the hidden facts, to bind them together and to describe the reality that people can take action" (Graber, 41 ). Whether it is due to radio, newspaper articles or website posting, news publicity should fulfill both functions for actual notification. Good news has a positive impact on society. Indeed, thorough and important news reports will improve the community, eliminate inappropriate government officials, save lives, and many others. Reporting events and revealing the truth is vital for the performance of the press' function.

Today, there are many forms of news media with intensive flow of information and communication like print media (newspaper, news magazine), broadcast news (television, radio), internet (online newspaper, blog etc) (Wikipedia, 2014). In many cases, news media covers various problems and topics such as society, politics, entertainment, daily activities, and sports. However, news media often covers political issues and has the most important impact on our society. These problems have more direct and independent influence on our beliefs, actions and judgments against the world. Personally, I think the political problem is one of the most urgent, useful and necessary problems in our society because the main purpose of the news media is protection, notification, warning.
