Investigation on Water-in-Diesel Emulsified Fuel in a 6 Cylinder Engine

We studied diesel emulsion fuel with a 6 cylinder diesel engine and investigated the influence of water emulsification on engine performance and exhaust gas. Particles present in water are emulsified in the form of diesel fuel, and when burned in a cylinder, a micro explosion occurs. As this process takes place, more oxygen is supplied to the fuel and combustion is improved. Emulsified diesel fuel with 5, 10 and 15% water / diesel volume ratio is used for 6 cylinder direct injection diesel engines.

Unlike gasoline engines, diesel engines ignite fuel by air compression rather than sparking in the cylinder. At high compression ratios, the air in the cylinder will be hot enough to ignite the fuel. Due to the high operating temperature, it is necessary to cool the diesel engine with water. Diesel engines are heavier than gasoline engines; there are usually three or more cylinders (supported by frames and floors) and a sturdy flywheel. The cylinder is set to work alternately to produce a smooth rotation effect, and the flywheel further contributes to smooth movement

An engine designed for diesel engines is an engine with a compression ignition mechanism. This can ignite the fuel at high temperatures (about 530 ° C.) achieved by compressing the air to high pressure before injecting the fuel into the cylinder. The fuel used to power the engine may be biological or petroleum based. This mechanism does not require complex spark ignition systems, features that highlight diesel engines and making them more efficient.
