INTRODUCTION Abandoned villages, including foundations of some buildings and mining sites with gold deposits, have recently been discovered near Elko, Nevada. In order to identify the age of the ruins and to find clues about the reason why the ruins were abandoned, an archaeological investigation of the ruins was done. To do this, archaeologists completed a number of investigations and unearthed mining areas. Because we carefully protect this place and the surrounding environment, only one excavation is done in this place.
