Investigating the Heat Capacity of Metals

My goal to examine the heat capacity of metals is to measure the specific heat capacities of the four metals and to see if they have the same specific heat capacity or difference. Prediction: The specific heat capacity is the thermal energy required to raise 1 kilogram per kilogram by Joule. My expectation is that the metal with the smallest atom requires less heat to travel and that the heat needed to heat the molecule is faster.

In this survey we examine the factors of the heat released by the variable during the displacement reaction. Many variables can be used in this experiment. You can change the metal, metal salt concentration, metal amount, metal salt type, or amount of solution used. In the experiment, the independent variable is the concentration of the metal salt. This changes from 0% to 100%. Therefore it is prudent to measure concentrations of 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%. 0% becomes the control. If there is any change in this concentration, some things are obviously wrong

What are the effects of various heating techniques on various metals? As metals are heated their properties change and change in different ways. Different heating techniques can be used to observe various changes in metals. For some heating methods, the metal may produce some variation, which may not be evident with other heating methods. - Determination of the mass percentage of the components in the mixture by thermogravimetric analysis Deonna Thomas Raechel Lewis Dahlia Williams Jessica Stills Tranese Elleby Experiment Name: Diamond Gilliard Trial Signature: Date: 23 February 2015 Using thermogravimetric analysis Method of determining mass percentage of ingredients
