The theme park is a recreational facility including rides, restaurants, events and attractions around themes such as celebrities and characters. Therefore, Hong Kong has a pair of theme parks. That is Hong Kong Disneyland (internationally famous theme park) and Ocean Park (recreation, education, home growth theme park). Approximately 10 million visitors visited two theme parks in 2009/2010. In this article we will analyze Hong Kong's theme park industry using Porter's 5 power model and decide if it is worth investing in that industry.

I will introduce Ocean Park, the only local theme park in Hong Kong which opened in 1977. It is Asia's largest marine theme park and focuses on providing education, recreation and conservation facilities to the public.
