Interview with an Elderly Woman

In the early 1940's, Mary was born into a family of small families living in the countryside of Kentucky. Mary became 70 years old, began a journey of a very interesting life, raised four children, and formed a chosen career. Our interview time took place over a period of time as Mary was very active and had little "free time". When I was young, her parents gathered at a social gathering and got married soon. Maria 's name was chosen by her grandmother and her mother. "Because they like to read this list for so long, there is a lot of discussion in each name." If she is a boy, her name is Francis.

Today, I interviewed an elderly woman living in a sanatorium in Webster County. When I entered her room, she woke up and kept on guard. When we talked, I explained to her that as a nursing student I need to fill in a paper on people over the age of 65. I asked her if she could interview her. Therefore, she enthusiastically agreed to my interview. I first took her vital sign. She said her name after telling me my name. I told her that she was at home, but I could not recall that time or year. Therefore, she is oriented toward people and land, but she is not oriented toward time. Her speech was clear and easy to understand when she spoke. Her hair and scalp are clean and beautiful. The structure of the face and ears are symmetrical. Her hands are strong and equal. Her nail bed is clean and the capillary is refilled <3 seconds. Her skin is warm and dry, with no bruises or bruising on its upper limbs.

The second interview was an elderly woman who needed to collect all the water from the public water. As water is heavy and it is too difficult to carry the amount needed for a week's life, she talked about how difficult it is for the elderly to get water from the basin. When I was young, I talked about how I filled a large container with water, but now it is necessary to spend more time to put water in a small container. She did not explain, but the video showed that she bent over the wall to reach a lower water line. She is in danger of falling in the water and hurting herself, so she is concerned that she must reach for water so far. Therefore, it is not only difficult for the elderly to bring water back, but access to water is also dangerous.
