The purpose of this interview is to explore human service experts in their work environment and observe human service specialists in their specific circumstances. Human service professionals have a wide variety of people; this is a lot of people. Human services experts will serve people such as high-risk mothers with poor education, psychosocial, nutritional deficiencies, and little or no transportation.

It discusses the relationship between the clinician and the client as well as the beginning, middle and end of the interview in detail. The use of humor and self-disclosure in therapeutic relationships includes well thought out chapters. This version contains detailed information on listening, nonverbal communication, use of interpreters, and interviews with reluctant adults and children who have suffered sexual abuse.
