This award recognizes the excellent program sponsored by CommUnity Grants. All courses in this category are designed to promote campus discussion on issues of identity and intercultural communication and to enhance understanding and solidarity by strengthening collaboration among various student organizations. This year, a course qualified for community subsidies will be awarded. This award honors groups and organizations that have greatly contributed to the sustainability of the campus environment, and the results have had a major impact on the campus. On July 8, 2016 (Friday), the Llangollen International Music Festival was awarded the first Rotary Peace Prize at a night concert of "Llangollen Heart" held in the Rotary International district of 1180. This year's award is sponsored by Typhoo to recognize individuals or organizations that contribute to the peace and understanding of the people around the world. Awards are open to anyone in any country. Terry Waite CBE, chairman of Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, met with Eve Conway, Chairman of Rotary International of the UK and Ireland, and Molly Youd, who is responsible for the Rotary International in 1180, and received the Spin Piece Award did. As a humanitarian and honorary member of the LlanGoslen Rotary club, he was extremely impressed and pleased with this award.
