Inner Evil in Lord of the Flies by William Golding

Golding used fear of boys' beasts as a transformation as a wild human being and a scaffold for ideal inner evil. Their imagination created a beast called "a snake like a snake in a tree" (Golding 124). Boys imagined the source of all the worst impulses as 'beasts', animals, or supernatural beings.
